VIDEO: Creating Healthy Communities with Martin’s Point Health Care

Maine Audubon has been proud to partner with Martin’s Point Health Care to help create healthy communities in Maine. Our two organizations may seem like we have different missions — Martin’s Point focused on human health and Maine Audubon on environmental protection — but in actuality our goals are closely aligned: we know that a healthy environment is critical to human health and well-being, and we know that getting out into nature is the first step towards wanting to protect it.

As part of our partnership, Maine Audubon staffers Nick Lund and Doug Hitchcox have been offering nature walks and presentations to Martin’s Point staff and patients. During our walks at Martin’s Point’s beautiful campus on Casco Bay in Portland we’ve seen fighting Bald Eagles, flirting Common Eiders, wintering loons, and other birds which have helped the Martin’s Point crew realize that their campus is not just a workplace but is connected to the surrounding environment. A camera crew followed us on some of these walks and edited the footage into this amazing video:

The video highlights the range of benefits available to Maine Audubon Corporate Partners. We love to tailor our partnerships to meet the needs of the company, including providing enrichment activities for staff and customers, membership discounts, event space, and other options. Far from simply a financial transaction, Maine Audubon can help companies achieve their goals. For more information about Maine Audubon corporate partnerships, click here.

We are proud to partner with Martin’s Point Health Care and look forward to growing our relationship to help achieve their mission of healthy Maine communities, in the many sense of that word.
