Thanks to our volunteers during National Volunteer Week

It’s National Volunteer Week (April 19 through 25, 2020). Every day, but especially during this week, Maine Audubon would like to recognize the hundreds of friends who support us with nearly ten thousand hours of volunteer time throughout the year. We deeply appreciate the commitment that these generous people make to our organization. Their impact is evident in the success of Maine Audubon. Volunteers are the backbone of many of our programs and we thank everyone for taking the extra time to make a difference in their community. We could not do it without you!

Doing good comes in many forms at Maine Audubon – volunteers are at the beach protecting shorebirds, answering the phone, counting loons, writing testimony and contacting legislators, supporting events, greeting guests, helping animals cross roads safely, stuffing envelopes, maintaining trails, pulling invasives and planting native plants, being board members, and so much more. Every day Maine Audubon is inspired by the support we receive from the selfless people who lend their time, talent, and voice to support our mission of conserving Maine’s wildlife and habitat. Every individual has the power to affect change to make Maine a better place to live and we are so grateful for your support.

Our facilities are currently closed so unfortunately there aren’t many volunteer opportunities available right now. In the future, if you want to turn your free time into something more meaningful, please contact us. We’d love to help you turn your time and passion into an opportunity to make meaningful change.
