Solar bill passes the House 106-38

Great news! This morning, the Maine House of Representatives passed LD 1444 (the “solar bill”) by a margin of 106-38. That’s right: this important bill earned the votes it needs to overcome Governor LePage’s anticipated veto.

This is cause for celebration — but our efforts aren’t over.

If your Representative supported this bill, please take a moment to thank them. (Here is a link to the roll call for the vote — a “Y” next to your legislator’s name indicates that they voted in support of solar. You can find your legislators’ contact info here.)

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of thanking your representatives when thanks are due.

Many legislators have been subject to immense pressure from the Governor’s office and big utilities. They need to hear that their constituents support their vote — and that they should stick to that vote when it comes time to override the Governor’s veto.

Thank you for your advocacy in support of advancing solar policy on behalf of Maine’s people, wildlife, and habitat.
