As a membership organization, our members are at the heart of what we do. The Maine Audubon community of members forms the core of our support, and is essential to our mission of wildlife conservation, education, and advocacy.
Members help us work hard every day to enhance our programs, expand our reach, and strengthen our community relationships. As part of that work, we are making some changes to the structure of our membership program.
These changes will go into effect on March 1, 2018. Here’s an overview of our levels and benefits:

- 20 percent off Maine Audubon programs, including camps, speakers, and trips
- Free admission to Maine Audubon signature events
- A 10 percent discount at our Nature Stores

Will I still get a membership card? Do I need to show my membership card at the Nature Stores and events to receive discounts?
Yes! When you renew your membership, we will mail you your new membership card and thank you letter. Please keep your card with you to redeem your member benefits in person.
At what age does a senior level membership start?
The senior level membership starts at age 65 and is for one named adult.
What benefits do I receive with a Frequent Flyer membership in this new structure?
Frequent Flyers receive all Maine Audubon membership benefits. Your benefit level is determined by the cumulative total of your monthly gifts over the course of the year. Take a look at the chart above to see the full benefits list.
Does this change my Chapter membership benefits? Can I be a member of a Chapter without being a Maine Audubon member?
As a Maine Audubon member, you automatically have the opportunity to join one of our eight Chapters in Maine. You must be a member of Maine Audubon to be a member of one of our Chapters. To learn more about our Chapters, please contact email@example.com or call 207-781-2330 x230.
How can I find out when my membership expires?
Beginning on March 1, 2018, your membership expiration date will be printed on your membership card in Month/Year format. You can also reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org or call 207-781-2330 x230 at any time to verify details of your membership.
I want to give a gift, but I don’t want to become a member.
Thank you for supporting Maine’s wildlife! We will honor your request. Please email email@example.com, call 207-781-2330 x230 or include a note with your donation to let us know your preferences.
Will a restricted gift (a gift to a specific fund or project) or a tribute gift (a gift in honor or in memory of someone) count towards my membership?
Restricted, tribute, honorary, or memorial gifts do not count towards Maine Audubon membership.
Why am I receiving renewal notices before my membership has expired?
We send renewal notices starting the month before your membership expires so that you have plenty of time to renew before your benefits lapse. If you would like to sign up for paperless renewals, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 207-781-2330 x230.
If I give a gift membership, will the recipient receive the new benefits?
Yes! All new and renewing members (including recipients of gift memberships) will have access to the new Maine Audubon membership benefits.
What happened to my National Audubon Magazine? Where is the option to purchase it?
We are no longer offering National Audubon magazine for purchase. As a Maine Audubon member, you will receive our quarterly magazine, Habitat. If you recently purchased National Audubon magazine, we will honor your subscription for one year after your purchase date. If you have additional questions about this change, please email email@example.com or call 207-781-2330 x230.
I’ve earned the Puffin Cruise or “Breakfast and Birds” benefits. When can I take advantage of this benefit and how many people can I bring with me?
The member-exclusive Puffin Cruise and “Breakfast and Birds” events happen once per year. Eligible members will be contacted in advance of these events with an invitation that includes all the details. If you have additional questions, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 207-781-2330 x230.
I would rather not renew my membership online. Can you send me a paper form?
Absolutely! Please request a paper form by emailing email@example.com or by calling 207-781-2330 x230.
Is it possible to auto-renew my membership each year?
