Advocacy & Action Alerts

Dedicated members like you, with voices raised in unison in support of wildlife and habitat are the foundation of much of the recent success of conservation efforts in Maine; and if we continue to work together, those voices are the key to our chances for being even more successful in the coming years.

Maine Audubon’s conservation staff, particularly Stephanie Cox, Grassroots Coordinator, and Jenn Burns, Staff Attorney & Advocate, look forward to working with you and the members of your Chapter.

We Need Your Help

We cannot hope for success without you, and therefore turn to you to mobilize Chapter members as needed. We depend on you to encourage members to receive action alerts and issue updates.

It can be easier for members to take quick action if an issue is familiar. Chapters can help by getting information out to chapter members and by hosting programs.

Coordination is the Key

Prior to drafting or sending action alerts of their own, Chapters should work with Maine Audubon staff to ensure that we are all using consistent language and messages, our timing is coordinated, and we are working together.

Communicating in a coordinated way with important environmental decision-makers, including legislators and Maine’s congressional delegation, greatly increases our effectiveness in achieving policy objectives that will determine the future of Maine’s precious woods, waters, and wildlife.
