Kenyan Naturalist to Speak About Landscape, Wildlife and People of Africa

FALMOUTH, February 17, 2005

At 7 p.m. on Monday, March 7 at Gilsland Farm Audubon Center in Falmouth, Maine Audubon will host acclaimed Kenyan naturalist and safari guide David Ngure as he presents a free program on the landscape, wildlife and people of Africa.

Born to a farming family in the forests of Kenya, Ngure became a professional guide to meet people from abroad and share with them his country's wildlife and culture. His studies of zoology, botany, history and social anthropology as well as expertise in English, French and German have enabled him to become a respected safari leader for zoological, alumni and other groups throughout Kenya.

"Maine Audubon is delighted to host David as we consider destinations, including Africa, where we'll conduct wildlife tours," said Margi Huber,
trips and tours director at Maine Audubon.

Every year Maine Audubon offers three to five tours to ecologically important international locales. Each tour supports wildlife conservation and local culture.

The program is free. To make reservations, call (207) 781-2330, ext. 217, or e-mail info@maineaudubon.org.
