e-mail/letter below to ask family, friends, relatives, work associates, neighbors, etc. to support your participation in Birdathon.

----------------------------------------------------------------

Hello!

Spring is here and so are the birds, which means it's Birdathon time!

On May 17, birdwatchers from all over Maine will be out spotting all the birds they can during spring migration…for fun and to raise funds for Maine Audubon. All proceeds will support Maine Audubon programs across the state, including bird banding, environmental education, Maine's loon project, nature camps and more.

I will be participating in Birdathon 2008 to spot as many bird species as (I/WE) can. I am writing today to ask for your support.

By pledging just a few cents for every species that I find, you can help Maine Audubon's efforts. I expect (I/MY TEAM) to identify approximately (INSERT NUMBER) bird species, so a pledge of $5 per species will equal a donation of $_______; a 50¢ pledge per species will equal ________; and a 25¢ pledge per species will equal ________. You may also make a fixed pledge of any amount you wish. Contributions are tax deductible.

To sponsor me, fill out the form below and send it back to me as soon as possible. I'll contact you again by June 9th to let you know how I did.

Thanks for your consideration,
(YOUR NAME)
