Hog Island Adult SessionsBird Migration and ConservationSpend five full days on the Maine coast studying bird migration and conservation. Based from spruce-covered Hog Island, you’ll travel to local migration hot spots such as the blueberry barrens of Clarry Hill, the shorebird-attracting tidal marsh at Weskeag, and the outstanding migrant trap Monhegan Island. Back on the island, you’ll enjoy an array of lectures, discussions, and slide presentations on identifying and conserving shorebirds, seabirds, hawks, and warblers and other perching birds. Led by renowned bird author, photographer, and artist Scott Weidensaul, the session will also feature popular instructors Kenn Kaufman, Peter Vickery, Jeff Wells, Tom Leckey, and Seth Benz. Date: September 10-16 |
