Summer Day CampsFields Pond Audubon Center Nature Camp (Holden)
Exploration, curiosity, and discovery are at the heart of Maine Audubon’s day-camp sessions at Fields Pond Audubon Center. Children in grades 3 to 6 experience and learn about nature through outdoor discoveries, indoor and outdoor games, crafts, structured group activities, and free-choice time. Our staff-to-camper ratio allows for individual and group engagement and growth through fun adventures. Each week campers range far and wide on the sanctuary’s 192 acres—from the head-waters of a stream, to its mouth; from the upper flanks of Copeland Hill, to its low wetlands; and from fields to forest. Children search among lily pads and grasses, under rocks and leaves, or among the trees to find fascinating life forms: tadpoles, salamanders, water striders, dragonflies, caterpillars, birds, chipmunks, frogs, and more. Such exploration encourages campers to develop respect for each other, for plants and animals, and for the environment. 2008 Schedule and PricesNature Camp meets weekdays from 9 am to 3 pm.
