Any Eels Here?

After drilling through 17 inches of ice, Kara scooped out icy chunks to give campers a clear look at the water and to talk about how frogs and other amphibians survive the winter on the pond bottom. Campers crowded around the hole closely to see if they could catch a glance at any eels drawn to the light.

February day camp takes advantage of the great learning opportunities winter has to offer, proving that it doesn’t have to be warm out to have a lot of fun outdoors. But by this time of year, we’re all hungry for spring.
