Do You Know about Living in Loon Territory?

Maine Audubon has just received funding from the Maine Outdoor Heritage Fund to reprint 40,000 copies of Living in Loon Territory - and we need your help to get this important guide into people's hands. This educational brochure highlights boating and shoreline laws designed to protect loons and other wildlife, as well as ways of identifying loons and their habitat, a loon "calendar" highlighting what loons are doing throughout the summer, and actions boaters and other lake-users can take to decrease or eliminate potential negative impacts from their activities.

Maine Audubon first published the brochure in partnership with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife in 2002 and saw an overwhelming success.

We are looking for help in getting this new batch of brochures out to the public. The brochures will be printed later this winter, and will be available for distribution by March, so more people can spend the summer of 2008 successfully "living in loon territory."
